Its been a while since i last wrote in this blog.
I was on holiday in Dovercourt Holiday Park near Harwich in Essex about 2 weeks ago now. The holiday was ok its self and the caravan was lovely, but there was a few draw backs that spoilt it.
"?" wasn't too good in himself, his arthritis was playing him up and he was feeling down and depressed in himself.
Steven didn't want to do anything and just sat in the caravan most of the time untill we all went out that is.
The 2 girls Zoe and Jade played in the park area quite a lot with the other kids and i sat and watched them from the balcony attached to our caravan most of the time and i took them swimming a few times too, they swam and i sat by the pool as they had to have an adult with them.
One day the girls were playing on the slide in the park area and 2 boys, one was 15yrs old blocked their way down the slide and was talking dirty and about smoking and drugs to them, which frightened Zoe and Jade, they got away and came running back to the caravan crying. Steven was wild and went out looking for them, but they had gone. I went to reception and told them about it and they took note of it, i also told security. All this happened on the Wednesday morning of our holiday and the girls were too frightened to go out of the caravan after that. Later that day we went along to Dovercourt beach "?" and i sat on the bench on the promenade while Steven, Jade and Zoe went looking for shells on the beach.
We ate out most of the time, the only time i cooked was on the Sunday. It was too much for me as i had to go and lay down for an hour afterwards as i felt fatigued. I left the washing up to the 2 girls. Zoe had to tell Jade what to do as Jade hadn't done any chores before and Zoe does chores daily, anyway they got through it all.
We went out a few times. One day we went to Felixstowe which was nice and another day we went to Walton-On-The-Naze that too was nice too, but saying that there is no comparison to Gt.Yarmouth which we like best. I wish i had booked the holiday in Gt.Yarmouth instead. Still, never mind maybe next time aye.
Evenings we went along to the amusement arcade as thats where Steven, Zoe and Jade liked to go, it was abit noisy. The lady who works on the change kiosk comes from Dagenham and now lives at Dovercourt. We got chatting to each other every evening while the kids were playing the machines.
After we left the arcade we went into the club house. Saturday night there was a couple of singers which was really nice, they sang some really good songs of the sixties. Sunday and Monday there wasn't much going on in the club house. Tuesday and Wednesday there was talent contests which wasn't all that. I think Zoe and Jade should have entered as they're always singing in harmony and are quite good and i think they would have won the contests, but they were too shy to enter. Wednesday our last night, Steven and i had our jellied eels and the 2 girls wanted crab sticks and "?" just turned his nose up at us as he hates sea foods...haha! anyways, he had a bag of chips instead. When we got back to the caravan we got a few bits packed up and left to rest to morning. In the morning we got the car packed up and tided the caravan before we left. Zoe and i took the keys back to reception and put them through the letter box as it was 7.30am when we left.
The side roads were clear that time of the morning and the A12 was too all the way home. We hit the traffic when we reached Romford which wasn't too far from home and we got home around 9.15am.
The 2 girls stayed over at mine for another few days. Jade went home on Saturday and Zoe went home on Monday. Steven also went to stay with his mum<<"L" and Jade on Monday too.
Yesterday Tuesday, I was a bit disorientated and had to go and have a lay down to recuperate, i don't know if i over done a few light chores or just getting over having everyone around me...haha! It feels good to be back to normal daily life. But, saying all that i enjoyed my time being away from home, but not the set backs mentioned, but all so good to be back home.
